Edit mode for SharePoint 2010 page

From my earlier post about Edit Mode for SharePoint 2007 page, it is a bit different with SharePoint 2010.

The query string parameter will be:

E.g: http://MyPortal/Pages/MyPage.aspx?PageView=Shared&ToolPaneView=2

Edit mode in SharePoint 2007 page

Just a tip, as so happen I need to edit a SharePoint page, which is totally blank and empty.  Is a custom page layout with no Site Action button for the typical click on Site Action>Edit Page. So, the work around is add a query string parameter on that page url.

E.g: http://MyPortal/Pages/MyPage.aspx?ControlMode=Edit&DisplayMode=Design

This will redirect the page to the edit mode page.

Trusted File Location

In Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, a trusted file location is a SharePoint document library, a UNC path, or an HTTP Web site that is configured as a trusted repository for workbooks that Excel Calculation Services can access. Excel Calculation Services opens workbooks that are stored in trusted file locations only.

Simple solution when I troubleshoot this issue “You do not have permissions to open this file on Excel Services.” on Excel Web Access.

In the Trusted File Location, the site is added, but the Trust Children is uncheck. Check on the Trust Children to allow any document library within the site enabled as trusted file location.
